Matthias Church on Castle Hill in Buda. Taken from our hotel window.

Now we are in Eger, touring the burg (old fortress)
This fortress is famous for holding off a Turkish invasion in the 1500's.
Even the women defended the town by pouring boiling water down on the invaders.
When the Turks finally managed to occupy the area for 90 years they built a number of minarets like these. Some of us climbed. Not me.
Ken looked down on us.

Turks and Hungarians fought valiantly.

Top of the Matra Mountain, the hightest point in Hungary
(Poor Fuji pictures from here on) Outside our Hotel Flora in Eger, we used the mineral baths and spa one day instead of hiking.
