Curse Art
I've got to tip my hat to Dr. Ben Marble for his almost perfect choice of words when he happened upon The Vice
President of the U.S.A. yammering for the cameras in his Mississippi
neighborhood destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney.
When I first heard it, I thought to myself, "Oh, here's someone angry at a politician for using his destroyed neighborhood as a photo opportunity." But that's only the beginning. What Dr. Marble remembered that I forgot, was that Mr. Cheney used the exact same phrase on the floor of the U.S. Senate in an encounter with Senator Leahy last year.
So of course, being able to turn Cheney's curse words back on himself in such a time of crisis is truly brilliant art.
The only way he could have put it more eloquently were if he had said, "Go fuck yourself, Mr. Vice President!" That would have been far more elegant. And if he had just left out the, "you asshole." That's crude.
Finally, to make the experience decidedly American, he filmed the whole thing and is now auctioning it off on eBay.
